Subject- English

1. Draw a picture of your room. Now write about the changes/improvements your parents wish to make in your room as well in yourself.

2. Write some general complaints that you have against your parents. Make a list of the common ones.

3. Read about the life and work of some ordinary people doing extra ordinary work for the society. Now write about their life and work (any two).

4. Learn the complete exercise of :-

(i) The Three questions.

(ii) Granny Tree climbing

(iii) The fun they had.

     

5. Revise all the tenses.

6. Read any two stories written by Ruskin Bond.

(i) An island of trees.

(ii) A bond with the mountain.

(iii) The India I love.

Write the summary and character sketch of any 2 characters of the stories.

v  Write the following:-

v Notices:-

1.       You are the warden of the chhatbir zoo. You have noticed that the visitors often feed the animals with the snacks they bring along. The children also tend to tease the animals and throw waste all over the place. Write a notice in about 50 words informing the visitors that they should refrain from doing so or their action will be panelized.                                                                                                                                                                                                     

2.       You are Roshan Ghai, captain of the school cricket team. The principal of your school has asked you to form a junior cricket team. Write a notice in about 50 words for the school notice board inviting the students of class V,VI,VII,to come for trial to the school cricket ground on May, 25 at 10:30 am on the basis of which you will form the team.

3.       Mount Carmel school, Gurgaon plans to organize a Diwali Mela in the school premises. Suppose you are Amrita Saini , the head girl .put up a notice for the school house captains and vice captains inviting them to attend a meeting to discuss  the arrangement for mela and to finalize the date.  

v Informal letters

1.                Recently you spent a week with your grandmother who lives in another city/village. Write a letter to thank her, describing briefly how much you enjoyed your stay with her and why. You are vartika/venkat.

2.                Your friend has failed in the first terminal exams .he/she is feeling very low. Write a letter enquiring how it happened. While expressing your sympathy and concern for him /her, you should encourage her/him to take the failure in her/his stride and to work hard for the next examinations.

3.    Pooja attended a lecture on how the advantages that we have achieved in the field of science and technology if not properly used can harm us. She made a few notes. She later decided to write a letter to the editor of national daily highlighting the dark side of scientific progress

Write a letter in about 120 words with the help of the notes given below.
